POLICY AND
IMPLEMENATION GUIDANCE FOR RECALL TO ACTIVE
DUTY AVAILABLE TO RETIRED
COMMISSIONED AND WARRANT OFFICERS WHO ARE
QUALIFIED AVIATORS IN THE
RANK OF LTC, MAJ, CW5, CW4, OR CW3. WARRANT
OFFICERS MUST HOLD THE
MOS OF 152B, 152D, 152F, 152H, 153B, 153D,
153E, 154C, 154E, AND 155A
THRU 155G. ARMY COMPETITIVE CATEGORY (ACC)
BASIC BRANCHES (LESS
AVIATION) AND PROFESSIONAL BRANCHES (CH, JA,
AND AMEDD) ARE NOT
ELIGIBLE UNDER THIS PROGRAM. NO WAIVERS WILL
BE GRANTED.
2. APPLICATIONS FOR ACTIVE DUTY ARE
RESTRICTED TO RETIRED
COMMISSIONED AND WARRANT OFFICERS WHO ARE
AVIATORS THAT RETIRED FROM
ACTIVE DUTY SERVICE NO EARLIER THAN 1 OCTOBER
1995. EXCEPTION TO THE

CONSIDERED ON A CASE-BY-CASE
BASIS. NO MORE THAN A TOTAL OF 93 AVIATORS
WILL SERVE IN STAFF
POSITIONS NORMALLY FILLED BY ACTIVE DUTY
AVIATORS DURING THE PERIOD
BEGINNING ON OCTOBER 1, 2000 AND ENDING ON
SEPTEMBER 30, 2002.
OFFICERS WILL COMPLETE THE PRESCRIBED TOUR
PRIOR TO AGE 62. AVIATORS
MUST REPORT ON ACTIVE DUTY NO LATER THAN 31
MARCH 2002. AVIATORS
WILL COUNT AGAINST THE ACTIVE DUTY
ENDSTRENGTH. AFTER COMPLETION OF
ACTIVE DUTY TOUR THE OFFICERS WILL RETURN TO
THE RETIRED ROLLS.
3. OFFICERS WILL BE ACCESSED IN A PILOT
STATUS CODE OF 3, FLY FOR
PAY STATUS, AND ARE NOT ELIGIBLE FOR
CONTINOUS AVIATION CAREER
INCENTIVE PAY REGARDLESS OF PREVIOUS GATES
ATTAINED. ANY RECALL
OFFICER FILLING AN OPERATIONAL FLYING
POSITION IS AUTHORIZED MONTHLY
CONDITIONAL FLIGHT PAY, IAW AR 600-105.
4. REQUIREMENTS ARE FOUND IN THE FOLLOWING
CRITERIA:
A. ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:
1) BE ON THE ACTIVE DUTY RETIRED LIST.
RETIRED RESERVE
(GREY AREA) OFFICERS ARE NOT ELIGIBLE TO
APPLY. THEY MUST BE ON THE
ACTIVE DUTY RETIRED LIST, FOR INFORMATION
CONCERNING ELIGIBLITY

B. INELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:
1) RETIRED FROM AD FOR ANY OF THE FOLLOWING
REASONS ARE
INELIGIBLE.
A) MORE THAN 8 YEARS ON RETIRED ROLLS OR
RETIRED DUE TO
REACHING MADATORY RETIREMENT DATE (MRD) FOR
SERVICE OR AGE.
B) TERMINIATED FROM AVIATION SERVICE DUE TO
FLYING
EVALUATION BOARD(FEB) OR MEDICAL DISQUALIFICATION
C) RETIREMENT IN LIEU OF ELIMINATION OR
RESIGNATION FOR
THE GOOD OF THE SERVICE IN LIEU OF
COURT-MARTIAL.
C. WILL BE ORDERED TO ACTIVE DUTY FOR A
PERIOD OF 1 TO 3 YEAR
ACTIVE DUTY SERVICE OBLIGATION (ADSO).
D. WILL NOT BE ELIGIBLE FOR PROMOTION
