I don't know if this is too far off the subject, but I thought I could
throw up a little of my New England experience. In the fall of 1966 I
finished my class at Fort Eustis on the CH-37 and headed to Stratford,
Connecticut for the Sikorsky factory class on the CH-54. The class was
outstanding, and the hotel was ok too.
My main takeaway from Connecticut was that the only things colder than the
climate were the women! But I suppose our hair cuts gave us away as GIs,
and therefore, not cool!
BTW, I have heard on occasion the term: "Cav type", now I don't know if
that is a derogatory term or not, but I am proud of my year serving as a
"Cav type"!
