[Vhfcn-l] Concealed carry in church

Mike,  I do not believe that "celebrate" is the right word.
We live in a society that worships violence.  The entertainment industry thrives on and encourages violence and the main stream media pretend to deplore violence while at the same time glorifying it.
Our elected representatives are unwilling to address any solution that will take longer than the next election cycle.  So the root sources of the problem (mental illness, poverty, lack of jobs) will not be addressed.  Thus it will continue to get worse.
I carry a pistol when I leave the house.  It is inconvenient and burdensome to my soul and body, and I hope that it rusts shut without ever being used.  I have it to buy time and distance to get away from trouble.  If someone wants to hold up a convenience store or rob a bank I will not interfere - they have insurance to cover that.  If they are about to execute the cashier that is a different story, but I tried the Hero business Back in '67 and all I got was bad knees, bad hearing and bad memories.

It's sad.  It seems some here celebrate the need to carry guns in church. It nauseates me. How have we come to this place.

I agree with you Mike but it is what the world has become and we must face that fact.  I do not think that they celebrate it but that they are more thankful for it.
We have several in our congregation, mostly LEOs or former LEOs.  Sometimes you can tell by the untucked shirt or unbuttoned jacket or where they sit.  Some are my friends or relatives.  Or if you know them.
Personally I am glad to have them but as you say it is sad.  A lot of things in todays world nauseates me and make me sad, this is only one of them.
I would like to say that things will get better, but I doubt it.  It is a scary  world that we live in today and it is getting worse day by day.
I think that in the end the Lord will have had enough and throw His arms up and it will be the second coming.  Who knows?  Not I.
God Bless you Mike and may you have a Happy New Year in spite of the world situation.
