Not all dead, a group of them were honored at a SOA reunion several years ago and I had a conversation with several of them. Hard core guys.

I had the distinct pleasure of flying with them from Dec 66 to Mar 67 and they were unbeatable. Many, many times the extractions were made under heavy fire. They never turned down a mission regardless of weather or enemy action.
I even got a little stick time with them. Unfortunately they are all dead now.

The King Bees flew Ch-34s. In 67 there was one setting on the end of Dak To airstrip, it took over 90 hits and barely made it in after extracting a recon team.
IMHO there is no helicopter unit anywhere who can look down on those guys. They flew MACV-SOG units and some of them were legendary.

True, but I still doubt they had UH-1Ns.
