I got to Dak To mid-July 1967. Lived in a tent on the west side of the parking apron for several months. Both the King Bees and the Green Hornets flew in and out on their trips across the border.
The air traffic controllers would come on the radio and warn us when the King Bees entered traffic. They never called in, just entered the traffic pattern. I don't remember it being a problem, who could miss the H-34's.
The Green Hornets got our attention because they had door mounted mini guns.

The King Bees flew Ch-34s. In 67 there was one setting on the end of Dak To airstrip, it took over 90 hits and barely made it in after extracting a recon team. IMHO there is no helicopter unit anywhere who can look down on those guys. They flew MACV-SOG units and some of them were legendary.

True, but I still doubt they had UH-1Ns.
