My Buddy Kevin was in the 1st Radio Research company. When Lang Vie
was being overrun he was upstairs in a P2V doing orbits. They were doing
one hop crypto sitreps that went straight to the Pentagon. He said they
just got very busy as the people on the ground were talking about the
PT-76 tanks being used against them. He would travel all over the
country setting up and staying at a location for awhile doing
intercepts.  After he got out the CIA offered him a job due to his
security clearance. He went to work for Ma Bell instead.
