[Vhfcn-l] Joe Galloway dies

Joe Galloway was the on-site war correspondent at LZ X-Ray in 1965, the first major battle of the Vietnam War. He gave helicopter pilots and crews a nickname we all wear with the greatest of pride!

He and Hal Moore wrote "We Were Soldiers Once ... and Young," later made into the movie "We Were Soldiers," where he was played by Barry Pepper.

I have photo somewhere of Joe and me at a presentation about LZ X-Ray made at Vanderbilt University to the ROTC department, similar to the 2d link below.

I need to find my copy of "We Were Soldiers" DVD......

A respectful, "Hand, SALUTE" to someone who experienced what we experienced and reported it faithfully ever since.
