  Recently I had intermittent troubles with my cell phone not working in 
areas it used to work then this weekend there was no cellphone voice 
service but data worked all the time. Just a month or two back on Rossen 
Reports he pointed out that 3G is going away but if your device is 4G 
compatible it is fine. Doing a bunch of research I found out that while 
my cell phone is a 4 G cell phone recent upgrades in the cell phone 
networks now requires that a 4 G capable phone also has to be a VOLTE 
capable phone in order for actual voice phone calls to work.. It stands 
for Voice Over LTE networks. I have a phone connected via straight Talk 
wireless but the trouble exists with Trac Phone also and anyone on the 
Verizon network. . Your data will work fine but you will have no 
connections on any attempted phone calls. I ended up buying a new 4G 
phone that has VOLTE capable and transferred my Sim card and it now 
works. I noticed that rather than the straight bars symbol for cell 
signal strength it is now marked LTE with a strength meter. My old phone 
is good for kids playing games on it but no phone service.
