Detect to Protect: Safeguard Your Family from Online Threats
Consumers rely on the internet now more than ever. While it offers many advantages, the internet also presents significant risks – particularly for military children. Though their digital proficiency allows them to operate technology with ease, it can also put them in vulnerable positions.
As internet usage continues to increase, scammers and their tactics continue to evolve. Phishing emails, online shopping scams and romance scams are a few tactics scammers use to try and steal Personally Identifiable Information (PII). During the Month of the Military Child, VA is committed to raising awareness and protecting the military and Veterans community from online scams, along with providing Veterans and their families with the knowledge to keep themselves safe.
