My Uncles were all (6 of them) farmers in the Nebraska and their family’s have continued to farm and would not consider doing anything else.  My dad started out farming then switched to a hog operation raising them to market size then hauling them to a Swifts Meat processing place.  He contacted a disease know as sleeping sickness, was in hospitals for long period and when released his sister and her husband had taken over his business he never talked about this to me but I know they kept the business and he never spoke to or about them.  He came to Denver and had several café’s when I was born.

My Uncle Linwood Kilmon was a truck farmer in Onancock, VA.  A WWII infantryman at the Bridge at Remagen.  He finally went bankrupt many years ago.  I watched a nor'easter blow through and flatten his 40 acres of corn.  It was a tough life.  He worked as a mailman to make ends meet.
My cousin Donny and I worked the farm in the summer tossing watermelons on the truck, and learned to run the little Ford 2N tractor at 12.  We picked strawberries, cukes, beans, etc.  I loved every minute of it.

This morning I got my garlic bed ready for planting and this afternoon it's snowing !
Ive heard that as you get older you talk a lot about the weather and bathroom habits. So, how's the weather at your place !
