Thanks for finding this and bringing it to light.

 

Personally, I encountered a problem when I tried to apply. The online eform
asked for name, birth date, military status (active, reserve, veteran, etc.)
and then asked for date of discharge when I put status as veteran.

 

It came back stating they were unable to verify my status.

 

I chatted online with customer service and they said they were having
problems with this promo, and for me to send an email to
veteransday at amazon.com <mailto:veteransday at amazon.com>  stating the problem.

 

I sent the email and got a reply within an hour or less, asking for the same
information I had provided online.

 

I supplied that and again within an hour or less got a reply they have
validated, and with a link to complete the process.

 

And that took care of it.

 

Note this is a one-time deal, $40 off the annual subscription price for one
year. If you are already a member it will set the price for renewal for the
next year but not change the actual renewal date.

 

At least that is what the details state.
