Cholesterol - Actually a good story

After reading about the statin issues and determined that I did have some of the side affects after taking for almost 20 years I took myself off of the statins and then told my Dr. He was not happy but indulged me by allowing me to get a calcium score but for some reason that was never entered into my records nor can I find where it was done, I have looked! That Dr retired, fast forward a year or so, I got a new younger one and she is cute! Anyway, she found out that I was not on statins and my cholesterol is just barely high overall but the bad LDL? was higher than just proportional. She anted me to go back on statins and I did but she also said that if I got a calcium score test done and it came back good then I could be off them even with the high cholesterol numbers. I was waiting for an insurance pre-authorization that never materialized because the insurance doesn't pay that but it's only a $100 and takes about 5 min. to complete. Anyway I scheduled, got the test done and my calcium score across the board was ZERO! I got an email with the results and also stating that I did not have to take the statins anymore.
Here is where I was at, Cholesterol should be <200, mine was at 216but LDL was higher overall and should be <129 and mine was 160
So with those numbers and a zero calcium score I am off statins!
