Have to admit I am not surprised that Comcast (Xfinity) is the likely
culprit.

I have been seeing some issues with mostly comcast subscribers with email
taking several days. In this specific case comcast kept rejecting the
emails. The rejection code was not afinal code so we kept retrying. Finally
comcast accepted the emails after about 4 days, For each recipient there
were about 150 attempts.
