VA put me on Metformin about 6 months ago.  I took the damn stuff for
about 4 months and got to hurting and aching all over, and nauseated
about half the time.  I looked up  the side effects of the stuff and
quit it cold turkey.  Within 4 to 5 days, I started feeling a LOT
better.  I haven't taken it any more, and my A1C is holding at 6.2  VA
can forget about me taking Metformin.  The doctors I see outside VA
think that my A1C of 6.2  at almost 81 years of age is not high enough
to warrant adding other meds for glucose.
