That was when I started connecting with other veterans, when I joined VHFCN and VHPA, when the Family Contacts Committee was formed. 

I do not recall if Chris was on VHFCN at that time specifically, but in the years then since he has been a constant presence on the net. His prodigious memory of past events, his knowledge of the aircraft and the work and innovation needed and used, his wry, introspective and yes, often impudent reflections on his history have made him a valued friend.

I say friend but I have never met him, not in person. But over the years he has always been a voice of reason and humor, quick to respond with support or with shared reflections. So many times he has contacted and continued dialogue with me back channel, sharing his time, his thoughts, himself.

I wish him and Jan the best.
