Back in 1948, I used to run an old Johnson outboard with the flywheel to top and opposed cylinders.t was a 15 horse. You shut it off by pressing a steel grounding strap. The flywheel would kick back and if you timed it just right, the engine would run backwards. I was good at it - most of the time. One day I did it, hit the throttle, and rammed the dock. I was prohibited from doing that any more. No damage to the dock or boat.
